About Micah Rothschild

Hello!

My name is Micah Rothschild and my father and grandfather taught me archery. And my great grandfather? He taught my father and grandfather. I am the fourth generation archer in my family. And some day I will teach my daughter (and any other kids I have) archery too. And possibly my grandchildren too.

Archery is in my blood! I was raised with archery. I was shooting bows at the age of 4.

Furthermore archery is even part of our family history, and is included in the Rothschild family's coat of arms.

I first started competing in archery at the age of 7.

I won my first competition at the age of 9.

During my teen years I won multiple competitions per year.

In university I started experimenting with other types of archery, including longbows, shortbows and compound bows. My favourite style however is traditional recurve.

Before I got married I went on my first hunting trip using a compound bow with a bunch of men who were in my wedding party.

My wife shoots and when my daughter is 4 years old I will teach her to shoot too.

C.P. Oneida Kestrel
When I go hunting these days I now use a hybrid recurve compound bow. Note - Some of the older hybrid recurve compounds are really poorly designed, but the new ones are much better. The bow I hunt with is a 60 lb C.P. Oneida Kestrel - costs about $1500 to buy a new one in Canada - and it is a monster of a bow, super accurate and powerful.

When practicing and teaching however I prefer to teach people with traditional style recurve bows. Why? Because they are the best for beginners. Compounds are very technical, longbows require a special stance to shoot properly, but recurves are very easy for people to learn with proper instruction.

Which is why you need someone like me. To schedule archery lessons in Toronto contact micahrothschild at gmail dot com.

I have been shooting for over 32 years now (I am 36 currently), so that is roughly 89% of my life has been devoted towards archery.

So if you want to learn how to shoot, if you want to compete in archery competitions, or if you want to learn how to hunt, you should contact me and learn how to shoot.
